It’s a true delight to watch the ducks frolic in their pool each morning. They jump in the moment they are free from their coop and oh the quacking they make. Bottoms up: We might need a deeper pool… I love the pure chaos with the water going every direction: Crazy how the water simply glides off. And then, the calm after the storm:

Ducklings Set Loose Upon the Backyard
It came time to let loose all the birds — though it was a struggle for me because I was nervous the ducks would run and never be caught. They’re just not super keen on us humans. But it turned out to be fine and those little quackers waddled around the yard but stuck close to their pen. Of course the chickens were not exactly welcoming — I’m hoping they learn to coexist peacefully, but at least there are four ducks to stand up to the flock. No harm done (yet.) The duck’s love to lounge about under the trees and it’s nice to have them out of their brooder...
