Book Review: Unbroken

This book completely took my breath away. I was in love with Laura Hillenbrand’s Seabiscuit, but this one eclipses it—and then some. I downloaded this to my Kindle and thanked God I had it during a 16-hour roadtrip with my family. I was raptured by the book from page one. I read during each five-minute drive between errands and for seven solid hours at a time. The tale of these men and what they endured during the war. Lately I’ve been studying up as I’m editing my most recent manuscript. Normally, I do very targeted research and find exactly which details I need. This time I’ve just been soaking up as much WWII history as humanly possible. Here’s a few of the resources I’ve been diving into lately:

Discovered Treasures: Flying Magazines

This past weekend, I picked up a bunch of treasures from the 40s that I use for reference and research in writing my novels. My favorite discovery: These magazines are full of articles and ads that testify to the full-fledge war effort in America in 1943 and 1944.
