It’s done! (Even though it’s only the 29th!) I finished my 50,000’th word today of “Lillie Among Thorns.” While I’m definitely doing a bit of a happy dance in completing on deadline – I still have a LOT of work to do. For me, 50,000 words is good progress, but not yet a complete rough draft. That will happen around 80,000 words. So I’ll keep trudging along and if I can maintain the same pace, get it completed before Christmas! (Dreaming…I know.) Congrats to all the other NaNo-ers out there and to those who maybe didn’t get to finish – don’t worry about it. You write at your own pace...
NaNo Update
We are more than half of the way through November! Where did the time go? Lillie Among Thorns is keeping pace with where it should be. We hit 35,000 words this week! It’s a good feeling and I’m excited with where the story is going. Lillie, my protagonist has taken on a life of her own and changed the direction of story a few times but I’m along for the ride! Good luck to those other nano-ers!

But fiction was a whole new experience for me. Thanks to several business trips and events for work, I was looking at about 24 hours that I’d be spending in the car over the course of a week. I enjoy my time alone with a good CD and rocking out to various artists, but I wanted to accomplish something more in that time. So I dove into an audio book! Sara Gruen’s Ape House was on my to-read list...
NaNoWriMo 2010 Update
Greetings all – I’ve been plugging away at the National Novel Writing Month and while I’m still about 2,000 words behind of where I should be, I’m pleased with my content thus far and the potential! I’m nearing 20,000 words and excited of where I can ramp up the action and tension. Check back for other updates and some long delayed book reviews.
